Children’s Charter
About Children’s Charter
In 1985, Dr. Paula Stahl and her husband, Jeffrey Stahl, founded Children’s Charter, a community-based clinic located in Waltham, MA. At its inception, its single mission was to offer unresourced families with specialized treatment to adults and children coping with the trauma of sexual abuse.
Over the past decades, the clinic’s focus has broadened as a specialty clinic for survivors of intrafamilial /multigenerational trauma. It includes women and child survivors of domestic violence, victims of physical abuse and neglect, survivors of rape, assault, and other violent crimes, foster/pre-adoptive family issues, and families coping with chronic illness and loss.
In 2000, Children’s Charter was acquired by Key Program. Inc. Today the clinic is the largest provider of outpatient trauma services in Massachusetts.
Children’s Charter must and will hold the hope and belief that the adults and children we serve can learn to trust, connect, and have meaningful relationships in their lives.
